Cephas Photo Forum is honoured to host special presentation
by National Geographic photographer TOMASZ TOMASZEWSKI
Mr. Tomaszewski, a freelance photographer, was born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1953. He started his photographic career with Polish magazines and worked with Solidarity Weekly as well as the underground press.
His images have appeared in major magazines and newspapers around the world, including Stern, Paris Match, Geo, The New York Times, Time, U.S. News & World Report, Fortune, Vogue, Elle, Die Zeit, Focus, La Croix, and Capital, among many others. He is the author of Remnants: The Last Jews of Poland, Gypsies: The Last Once, In Search of America, In the Centre, Astonishing Spain, and A Stone’s Throw.
Mr. Tomaszewski is a regular contributor to National Geographic Magazine, which has published 18 of his photo-essays. His work has been exhibited in the U.S., Canada, Israel, Japan, Madagascar, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, and Poland. He teaches photography in Poland, the U.S., Germany, and Italy.
In 1992 Mr. Tomaszewski’s work received honorable mention in the magazine news category of the Washington Journalism Review (now the American Journalism Review) awards.
